| In order to give the game which is living here naturally and those species which were resettled here, enough space for freedom of movement and to provide a better chance for survival, the two family farms of the Namibian Nauhaus family, Nabatsaub No. 71 (1907) and Karossewie No. 72 (1982), were united in Karachab Game Ranch. This game ranch was registered by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in April 2001 and covers a size of over 8 600 hectares. Traditionally these farms are cattle farms, but they are transformed slowly into a quality game ranch. We are the living proof that cattle and game can co-exist peacefully and successfully. The name Karachab derives from the brook Xaraxab of the Bushman (San) language which meanders through the estate. |

| It is our aim to breed wild animals on this landscape and habitat-wise diverse countryside, especially those game species which were originally living here before this area was settled by humans. If the number of game increases and becomes too much for this area, surplus animals will be caught by experts and then be sold alive. Through this we would like to contribute our share to protect and preserve game of this part of Namibia and the southern African region. It is one of our aims to proof that Cattle and Caracal, Cheetah and Leopard can also live together peacefully. We are ecologically aware and strive to sustainably conserve the balance of the environment and culture of this stunning region sustainable for future generations. |
